Linda, It's a pleasure to here you on the radio. I am in the process of ordering some Cd's for myself and as gifts. Today on Bill Macks radio show, I heard you for the first time singing, Clinging to a Saving Hand. Bill has had many versions of it sung, but today you swept everybody away with yours, Great Job! I can not wait to hear the rest of the Cd.,now! The sharing of tribulations, that you and your family have had to endure, and the deep devotion to Chirst, is a Great Inspiration to all, that read it. Thank You! Best Regards! James Clark

Dear Linda and family, Thank you so much for the CD. It really touched my heart when it arrived in the mail. It brought tears to my eyes, tears of sadness and remembering, and tears of love, joy, and gratefulness, because you have touched our lives in such an awesome way, and I thank God for the gift of you! I remember this time 5 years ago all that was happening; your family's tragic loss of Barbara and our little Elizabeth receiving the "gift of life" because of the decision Barbara and your family made. You are FOREVER in our hearts and prayers. May God bless you and the entire family! All our love, from: Elaine and the Cerna family, Carlos, Sr., Joshua, Carlos, Jr., Eric, Rebecca, and Elizabeth (in Heaven)

Thank you for your strength, faith, and courage. You made an old trucker happy today. This is so much more than I could have expected. I am listening to my new CD right now (since I just got it), and will let you know my favorite song. I already know it's "Strengthen the Breeze." It's just too precious not to be a hit. I feel so umble to have known your friendship over the years and I still think of the friendship bread you made Buddy before he died. You really cared about us and did what you could to make him happy in his last days. I will never forget you for that. I will be ordering your C.D. shortly. Linda, thanks so much for the special CD gift you've given our family through your and Bob's efforts. And thanks for your CD . . . there's so much in common. JackD. "A new set of values altogether, the way things look now:" WHAT ARE THE REAL RICHES? Remembering there will be no pockets in the last robe we wear, We can think of a few. . . A loving home, A chance to work, A nation that is free, A fearless mind, A portion of life still left, A sense of well being because of faith, A hope born of a glimpse of Christ, Enough to eat and wear, A place to sleep, A time to play, A time to worship, A chance to serve, An opportunity to give. These are some of the riches all men should possess on earth. These are the real riches that God calls upon us to help all to have and use daily. For these alone bring abiding happiness. Pray and work that all men may possess them.

My wife and I were on our way home on Sunday afternoon January,15,06 we were listening to open road with Bill Mack Gospel singing and herd some of you'r songs that were played during that 3 hour drive. We live in New Brunswick Canada, which is across the border from Maine on the east coast.I used to be on the road driving long haul tractor trailer from 1960-1975 and I am still a trucker at heart. We both love the Lord and appreciate so much Christian Music of you'r caliber as we travel a bit.I said all of that to say this.Bill was saying to his wife how nice a person Linda Plowman Fikes is so when we got home we went to his web site to learn more about Linda..Now we know what they were talking about..our heart's go out to you Linda for you'r testing and trial's over the years..May the Lord continue to guide, direct, strengthen and be your portion today and every day for the years to come.We have shown you'r site and messages to several people as well we have printed the material to give to our friend's. We are going to order you'r new cd in a day or two. Thanks for your testimony..Edward & Sharon White

March 14 - Your Weak Point "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome with good." The instruments in your hand for good are invincible against evil, did you but use them. Every evil you face boldly, in My Spirit, flees at once, ashamed. No evil can look good in the face. Teach to all -- that good is stronger than evil. You must answer the challenge of evil. This spiritual warfare must be ceaselessly waged by My followers. Remember it is not where you are strongest that evil will attack you, but at your weak points. Hence the need to overcome. Be ready to see a weakness in yourself, and attack that until you are victor. http://www.twolisteners.org

March 29 - The True Sign How many believed on My Name after seeing the signs which I did? Not for the signs, not for the water made wine, not for My miracles will My true follower believe in Me. No, for something deeper, seen only with the eyes of faith, realized only by a heart of love responding to My Heart of Love. Not of these must it be said, "I do not trust Myself unto them" as I did of those who saw My signs. I must trust Myself and My Cause to My followers who see me with the eyes of faith. How else can I be loved and known? They will meet Me, the outcast Savior, when I am performing no mighty deeds, wandering unheeded and unacclaimed through dark and lonely ways, and they will pause, all other pursuit forgotten, and will yet turn and follow Me. Follow because of some chord in them responsive to the yearning of My Heart for Man, who has shut Me out. Follow, too, because of that in Me which is responsive to the cry of man's hungering soul. http://www.twolisteners.org

Linda, That's a great album...I read about your illness and it's just wonderful to have you well and back in music and entertainment! All of the songs in your album are fine, however, you did an especially good job on the Bill Mack song "Clinging to A Saving Hand", and "The Family Bible". Thanks for recording it! My favorite on the album is "I choose To Trust You". I love it. You probably wrote that one. I'll look forward to working some shows with you one of these days. Your good friend, Ann Walker Blake told me about you back in February of this year. Claude Gray

Re: post from Claude Gray Claude, thank you for your thoughtful comments on the CD. You may have had a chance to read the liner notes by now, but I wanted to mention here that Ann Hartmann wrote "I Choose To Trust You". She will be thrilled that it's your favorite song from my "Could You Make A Difference" CD. I love it, too. That song's message is "especially for everyone". I sure wish I had written it, but the credit goes to Ann Hartmann! She was precious to send it my way when she did and the song has been a great comfort and encouragement to me amidst missing Barbara and the breast cancer battle/journey. It was also a blessing to record your hit, "Family Bible". I've sung it since I was a young girl and was so happy to finally be able to record it and include it on the gospel CD. Take care now and God bless, and thank you again for your sweet message/post. Linda ^j^

Hi Linda! This is my first time ever contacting Bill Mack, and it was upon the serious recommendations of a good friend of mines-Trucker Larry Wallace! He's one of my long time greatest fans, Oh by the way you've got one of The Platters here! That's right, you've got Milton Bullock, formerly of The World's Famous PLATTERS. Check out my website @www.thegoldenplatter.com for more detail verifications of my credentials. Please pray for our soldiers, while it is a war against terrorism, it is also a battle to retain our freedom of religion. We must also fight this war on our homefront against the ACLU.

Your life is an inspiration and truly a blessing. I am a breast cancer survivor as well. It seems that God is fully in control of your life and the life of those around you. I read about your daughter and was very moved by your testimony of her life. I couldn't imagine what you have been through, but I can imagine Jesus Christ being there and in total control. You know He says....My ways are not your ways. and we don't, nor can we comprehend His thought process, but He has given us the promise of a hope and a future. That hope and future may or may not be here on this earth, but we are guaranteed as Christians of the eternal guarantee. I found during the trials and tribulations of my life that what I was going through I was forced to face whether or not I liked it or not. It was real and it was happening to me. I'd be lying if I portrayed the process as being great and wonderful experience. It was only God who could know my deepest yearnings of my heart, it was only God who's solid foundation kept me sane, and it was only God who in His compassion for me edured my pain and suffering on the cross. He has lifted me up so many times and carries the weight of my world on His shoulders daily. I thank you for your testimony, because ultimately we are overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. I see, in you, God has taken you and your family's heart and blessed them with many gifts of giving. I Thank you for your web site, even though I do not know you, but my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ knows you and that is good enough for me. The world sees us as a weakness, a flaw, an inperfection to society, but God sees us as belonging to Him, being loved by Him, and marked as His when we give our lives to Him. Only those who have traveled the road can truly understand the way the gravel feels when your face down in the dirt. The beauty of it all is that when we're face down in the dirt we know Christ is right there with us. I often wonder why he fell carrying the cross to calvery. He was the messiah, he didn't have to fall, but he fell so that someone who was a complete stranger was made to come out of no where and carry that cross for Him. As Christians, we all carry the cross. I thank you for your testimony, Gina Lathem

Hey everybody! Happy New Year 2007! Thank you so much for all the posts. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I'm deeply touched that you took the time to visit my web site and read our "sharings"... especially that you took the time to post a special message. God bless you all as you continue to make your difference for Him. And...please feel free to e-mail me personally at LindaPlowman1@aol.com. I'd like to ask you to please pray for my little cousin, Angel. Angel is only 32 and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She will begin chemo within the next couple of weeks. She has a strong faith and has really been a trooper. I ask that you join me in praying for and claiming Angel's complete healing, by the blood of Jesus and in His name. Be check back as we're working toward adding a Tribute to Angel on my web site. Hopefully, we'll have it up in the next day or so. Take care and have a blessed Sunday...gotta get ready for church! What a great way to get your message out...God's message. I enjoyed reading & was moved. You never know what someone else has gone through on their journey here. My favorite saying It's a short walk in the park. Knowing what's on the other side...I too am blessed everyday, I always prayed for God to use me to make a difference in someones life..about 8 years ago he sent a child to our home that had been sexually abuse (she is now a lovely young lady) & again he sent me twin granddaughters to raise. They were just a few months old. How lucky I am to have them, the laughter that feels my heart, & the joy they bring is truly a gift from God...& a wonderful husband standing beside me....Carol Ussery

Dear Linda, I really enjoyed you at Forest Lake Baptist this saturday at our tea party for the children's ministry. Your story and your voice really touched me. You and your family will be in my heart. I have not experienced the grief that you have but I have lost my step-brother recently and I can sympathize. Your songs are the kind of music that can help me and my family heal. My step-brother's heart was given to someone through organ donation. Organ donation is something that is dear to my heart, because my grandmother is a kidney transplant recipient. Remember that JESUS will always watch over his children. In Christ, Skye

Hi Linda, I was sitting here listening to some of your songs and felt like I should email you and tell you how much I appreciate your singing and your “walk” with the Lord. I “thought” I was having a bad day until I visited your website, …but your strength, love, and faith lifted me and I thank you. “Missing Barbara is the most difficult assignment I have ever had. Our lives are forever changed. Each day is a challenge, but God has held us and given us His grace, His supernatural ability to do in us and through us what we could never do on our own. God has enabled me to better understand and “do” my purpose for Him. It is my prayer for each of you that God will enable you as you strive to trust Him, no matter what.” I was very touched by your webpage on your daughter. I have a daughter who is 22 now and I cannot imagine the pain and grief one must go through in losing a child. From this day forward, you will be in my daily prayers, because your faith and your words have touched me. May God Bless You Linda Fikes. Ben Taylor

Dear Linda, A friend, Jo Anne Ingram, shared your lovely CD with me. I too lost a daughter, Allison Chappell, age 22, on January 21, 1989. She was a Senior at Auburn University, applying for law school when she got a flu-type illness that settled in her healthy heart. She got sick on Monday and died the following Saturday after being hospitalized for only 1 night. She went into cardiac arrest and died before noon. The doctors worked for hours trying to make her heart beat again, but it never beat another single beat on its on, and finally we had to let her go. It has been 19 1/2 years for my family no since she died and we credit Allison faith, our faith, and God's faithfulness as the reason for our healing and ability to survive with a positive and productive life after her death. She was an outstanding Christian who said to me many times during her brief life, "Mama, I cannot wait to see how God is going to use me, I want my life to make a difference." He has used her beautiful life, and her death, and a prayer of faith we found in her Bible - written 6 months before her death, while she was attending school during the summer in Spain. The prayer of faith has been used by God to touch many lives and to witness to her faith in a powerful way. God has used Bible Study Fellowship, other Bible studies, Christian radio, etc. help keep our focus on God's truth found in His Word. I found 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 to bring me much comfort as well as many, many other scriptures. Our other daughter, Jennifer, was only 16 at the time of Allsion's death and amazingly accepted it with faith total trust in the Soveignty of God. She is 36 years old, married to a wonderful Christian man, and they have a 4 month old son - (our first grandchild!!!) - and lives in San Antonio. God has been faithful to keep her steady through all the years of healing and adjustments to being a 3-person family instead of a 4-person family, her years a Auburn University, and 12 years of working at Southern Progress in Birmingham with Southern Living magaine and Coastal Living magazine, where she was Executive Editor when she resigned to move to Texas to marry Jeff. Now she is Managing Editor of USAA Insurance Company Corporate Magazine and writes for 2 Texas magazines - free lancing. She and we are happy and live happy fulfilled lives - finally adjusted to our "New Normal" as a family without Allison to share our daily ups and downs. It is wonderful to know that Allison is with our Lord, happy, safe, and awaiting our joining her one day. We have tried to reach out to help others heal as they have experienced similar losses. I served as a Stephen Minister at our First United Methodist Church in Montgomery for 6 years, and was a Stephen Minister Teacher, teaching classes on grief recovery, etc. and working one on one confidentially with my care receivers. God has used that ministry to heal me - more than I ever helped others to heal - and it was good to share with others who were walking the same path I had walked. God is real. God loves us and has provided all we need to live now and to die one day - all we have to do is rely on him and his Holy Spirit each step of the way each day. He is faithful. Only He can bring healing to our losses - through his Word, music, and friends who care and reach out to us in our need. I am so very sorry about the loss of your precious daughter, Barbara. From the comments she made that are written on your album, she reminds me of my sweet Allison. She wanted to be used by God - and he is still using your Barbara's testimony to touch lives today. Thank you for the beautiful music. The words to the songs on your CD touched my heart and express my own feelings about our own loss and our faith and trust in the Lord. Thank you for your beautiful life and witness. I will be calling to order several copies of you CD soon, as I would love to share your gift of music and faith with another friend or two that have lost children that I have minister to through the years. Yours is a wonderful ministry so do not ever give it up. God is using you in a powerful way. As I read all the nice comments about your singing I remember Barbara asking me one day, at the doctor's office, "Did you know my Mommy can sing?" And I told her that I sure did and that you had a beautiful voice. She told me she was going to grow up and sing too. Reading the comments hear and on Facebook show what an inspiration you are to everyone. May God keep blessing you with a beautiful voice to keep that inspiration going. Joyce M.

Sweet Linda , I had to visit your page again & leave a note. You set such an example for us all to live by . You give us words from the Good Book to live with. You give examples of your life battles fought cloaking yourself in the true armour of God. You truly walk the walk & you are kind enough to talk the talk to others , so that we may all move a bit closer & do a bit better , perhaps making it possible for us to believe a bit more in ourselves , and by always conducting ourselves in a way that makes HIM proud. There is truly no other love that can compare to the Love of HIM . Linda , You are a reminder of that to us here on earth. God Bless You God Bless Precious Barbara ! Frances Loper-Corwin
